Challenge

In 1977 a group of visionary families birthed Goodna Christian School. Their goal was to provide a strong Christian alternative to public schooling. Queensland’s oldest independent Christian school was renamed Westside Christian College in 1995. For many years Westside was a ‘best kept secret’. Stories of the strong, caring community culture, educational strengths, and testimonies of parents and students, were largely untold.

While retaining the College’s foundational values and culture, in 2017 the College leadership engaged Brilliant Branding to refresh the College identity into one which would confidently carry it into the future.

Outcomes

Through focus groups, broad stakeholder engagement, and a thorough development process, the new crest featuring a symbolic lighthouse was launched in 2017.

In addition to the visual identity refresh, targeted marketing campaigns based around stories and the concept of ‘Discover The Heart of Westside’, have contributed to an increase in enrolments by over 300 students in 5 years.

Brilliant Branding continues to work with the College leadership and community in telling their inspiring stories.
